ROUTE CLOSURES CAN BE EXTENDED
We're giving you more time for the Eifel. Thanks to intensive discussions and constructive exchanges with the municipalities and authorities, we are able to extend the time window for track closures for the 3RIDES Gran Fondo on June 1. This means that we can now keep the routes open for you for 45 minutes instead of the previous 30 minutes and the "Catcher Car" will stay in the garage a little longer. We would like to thank everyone involved for making this solution possible. Details can be found below.

At the same time, there is also an update to our registration. Here, the medical certificate that participants without a license previously had to present on request will in future only be a recommendation for 3RIDES in agreement with the UCI and analogous to other so-called everyman races in Germany, but no longer mandatory.

RIGHT OF WAY FOR THE 3RIDES GRAN FONDO
As fascinating as the Eifel is as a racing bike region, it is just as challenging for the organization. As there are often no sensible alternative routes and the home of the 3RIDES Gran Fondo is also a hiking and excursion region, our aim is to minimize possible disruptions to public transport as much as possible.
We are therefore all the happier that we have now been able to extend the length of the route closure from 30 to 45 minutes in close consultation with all those responsible. During this time window, always starting at the front of the race, the participants of the 3RIDES Gran Fondo have right of way.
In order to make maximum use of this "slot" for everyone, we will also send participants in the "M+60" and "W+50" classes, whose finish line is at kilometer 82 in Kesternich, onto the course with a head start. The end of the closure will be signaled by a "catcher car".

KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR HEALTH!
You should only tackle the challenges of the 3RIDES Gran Fondo and 3RIDES Gravel Race if you are sufficiently trained and, above all, healthy. Please prepare yourself accordingly - this is not least the guarantee for a big plus in riding fun. From now on, however, a medical certificate is no longer required to register for either race. We are thus adapting our conditions of participation to similar races in Germany, where, unlike in Italy or Belgium, for example, there is no medical certificate requirement.
However, we still recommend that you consult your family doctor or a sports doctor, and not only those who are starting a race for the first time. If you feel ill, feverish or otherwise ill on the race weekend, please clarify on your own responsibility whether it makes sense to start. Your health comes first in any case. But in this case, even a six-week-old certificate would not help - which is why we will not be using it in future and will rely on your own responsibility.

Participants who want to qualify for the world championships of the UCI Gravel World Series or the UCI Gran Fondo World Series need a license to take part in the world championships anyway - which in turn requires a medical certificate.
