The 3RIDES Gran and Medio Fondo, which is held as a cycling marathon, offers two topographically and scenically attractive routes around Aachen with a long loop into the Eifel. All participants will receive a full starter package. All routes can of course also be ridden on e-bikes.
Very important: the Fondos are not races, so please observe the StVO.

The courses
The 3RIDES Medio Fondo - the crispy loop through the northern Eifel region

In numbers: 130 km, 2,000 metres altitude difference

The route: The Medio Fondo starts in Aachen and leads via Würselen past Stolberg with a saw-tooth profile typical of the region into the Hürtgenwald. The area is part of the beautiful German-Belgian High Fens-Eifel Nature Park. From the municipality of Zweifall, the route gets really crisp, with over 600 hm over a distance of just under 25 km. Behind Simmerath the way back begins, which again leads via Zweifall to the south of Aachen and ends after a loop in the west in the Soers.
Important: The 3RIDES Medio Fondo is a cycling marathon without ranking and without classification. However, a real-time measurement will be determined with a disposable transponder that each participant will receive with their race number. Road traffic regulations must be observed at all times along the entire route.
The 3RIDES Gran Fondo - the ultimate challenge

The route: The Gran Fondo is a challenge even for well-trained road cyclists, as the coordinates alone show: 2,700 hm over 175 km - that could also be a route in the Alps. The Gran Fondo also starts in Aachen and leads via Würselen past Stolberg with a saw-tooth profile typical of the region into the Hürtgenwald. The area is part of the beautiful German-Belgian High Fens-Eifel Nature Park. From the municipality of Zweifall, this route also gets really crisp, with numerous climbs with double-digit percentages. The route leads through the Kalltal valley to the Rur reservoir. Behind the village of Hammer comes the hammer: a ramp with a 25% incline in places. Behind Simmerath, the course becomes flatter again, the participants roll via Zweifall into the south of Aachen and after a westward loop back to the CHIO grounds.
