PART OF THE EXCLUSIVE SERIES OF QUALIFYING RACES FOR THE GRAN FONDO WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP IN AUSTRALIA - AND THE ONLY GERMAN QUALIFIER!
More Eifel, more riding fun, more safety: with the move to the south of Aachen, the Gran Fondo at 3RIDES Aachen will become even more attractive. Just a few kilometers after the start, the first climbs of the Eifel await the participants.
IN THE QUALIFYING RACES, THE TOP 25 PERCENT OF ATHLETES IN EACH CLASS QUALIFY FOR THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS.
CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION
In the 3RIDES Gran Fondo, all participants start together, but are ranked according to age group.
Only racing bikes and expressly no e-bikes are permitted for the race.
Participation is open to anyone born in 2006 and older - all that is required is a license from a cycling association or a sports medical certificate that is not older than one year at the time of the event.
Do not forget your identity card or passport when collecting your starting documents!
All start according to the principle of mass start by age group. A starting box will be set up for each age category, which will be opened 1 hour before the start. AK 19-34 start in the first starting block.
The top 25% of each age group will qualify for the 2025 UCI Gran Fondo World Championships. This 25% is calculated on the basis of the number of participants who actually started, not on the number of participants who registered. The results are determined on the basis of the time driven.
The final timing, which is decisive for the result of the World Championship qualification, will be taken at the following kilometer marker:
82km (on the track): Official qualifying distance for the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships (men 60+ and women 50+)
136km (at the finish): Official qualifying distance for the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships (men 19-59 and women 19-49)
The starting documents will be issued upon presentation of an official ID + medical certificate that is not older than 1 year at the time of the event or the racing license. If the participant is prevented, he/she must ensure that the starting documents are collected by a person authorized in writing.
Each participant is obligated to satisfy him/herself of the correctness of the recorded data when collecting the participant documents. Corrections can only be made by the 3RIDES Orga Team until the end of the race number distribution. There is no entitlement to a subsequent change/correction.
The race course is 136 kilometers long; the finale for the older age groups is on the race course at kilometer 82.
AK 19-49w / AK 19-59m: 136km / 2,290m
AK 50-80w / AK 60-80m: 82km / 1,400m
The race route is signposted, 136 km long in total and closed for 30 minutes after the top riders. Track marshals and a final vehicle will secure the route during this time. Drivers who are overtaken by the final vehicle can continue in compliance with the rules of the road and receive a final time and result at the finish.
IMPORTANT FOR AK50-80w / AK 60-80m
The final and thus also the timekeeping for the qualification for the World Championships is located on the race course at kilometer 82.
The closing time for all age groups is 12.00 noon. The award ceremonies will start at the same time, beginning with the overall winners and then all age groups.
